Back                                                 The Squirrel Hunters

The Squirrel Hunters were civilian men who were recruited and organized for the defense of southern Ohio in 1862 in the second year of the Civil War.  The Confederate army had captured Lexington, Kentucky and were threatening Cincinnati.
