Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Massie Celebrate Golden Anniversary


     Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Massie, 10 Pine St., celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, March 1. They were married at the home of the bride on Feb. 27, 1909 by Rev. J.B. Massie, father of the groom. The couple spent the greater part of their married life on a farm in Walnut township.
     There were 42 who greeted them on the day of the celebration. Among those who enjoyed a family dinner were their four children, and families, Dale Massie of Ceredo, W.Va., Carl Massie of Portsmouth, Mrs. John (Mildred) Taylor of Ashland, Ky., and Frank Massie of Waverly. Mrs. Ollie Davis of Williamstown, W.Va., a sister and her daughter, Mrs. Nancy Barnhart of Parkersburg were dinner guests.
     Others who came in later to greet the couple were Miss Jane Simms, Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Massie, Mr. and Mrs. Linas Massie and son and grandson Noel and Timmie, Mr. and Mrs. Evans Plymale, Mr. and Mrs. John Brammer, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Glassburn, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Glassburn, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Tope.
     Mr. Massie has worked for 15 years at the Farmers Hardware Co. The couple have 12 grandchildren.
