Cherrington Reunion...121st.
To be held Sunday, July 20th at noon at the Holiday Inn in Gallipolis, Ohio. Those coming in early will also meet Saturday evening at the Inn for dinner at 6 p.m. Order from the menu on Saturday. |
This is the reunion of all descendants of William Cherrington and his two wives, Margaret Hank, and Letitia McClung, but all other branches of the family are welcome.
Reservations must be made for Sunday by contacting Henny Cherrington Evans at hcevans1775@sbcglobal.net Letters will go out in June for known contacts.

| We are planning A Childers Reunion in Gallipolis in June. This will be for Mosby Childers who came to Gallia Count about 1810 after serving in the RW, traveling through and getting married in Alderson Augusta Co. Va (now WV) to Elizabeth Jeffries. Settled in Gallia County near Rio Grands and raised a family which included John, William, Mosby Jr, Abraham (mine ancestor), Henry, Joseph. Mary (Polly), Robert M., Elizabeth, Martin Thomas, Andrew, and Nancy. |

The 2008 reunion looks like it going to be a terrific success. We
have had replies for 22 rooms, which will mean at least 50 people.
A Block of 35 rooms have been set aside for the Childers Reunion at
the Holiday Inn, Gallipolis. Ohio. Rates for the rooms are $79.00 per night plus tax.

4 PM – 6 PM Get re-acquainted with cousins in meeting room,

A. 9 to 5 Meeting & get acquainted room open all day at Holiday Inn, . Looking at Childers Genealogy, Pictures, Books & other memorabilia.
Visit sights of interest around Gallipolis, Gallia County
and Point Pleasant. W. Virginia
1. Our House Museum, Gallipolis. (Not Childers. just the name of the museum).
2. The French Art Colony, Gallipolis.
3. Galia County Historical Society
4. Madog Center for Welsh Studies.
5. Galia County Genealogy Society.
6. Visit Historic Point Pleasant, West Virginia
7. Point Pleasant River Museum.
8. Other sights of interest in Point Pleasant. |
B. Noon: Delicious lunch at the River City Smokehouse, Gallipolis, OH
C. 6 PM Dinner at the Courtside Bar and Grill Gallipolis, OH (a private banquet room will be available). After dinner social in meeting room at Holiday Inn. |
| Day 3 Saturday June 21 |
9:00 AM Visit Bob Evans Farm with a scrumptious lunch at noon Bob Evans Restaurant!
A. Visit Adamsville, which is named after our great great great great Uncle Adam Rickabaugh (Born 1761 Died 1836). Bring your Camera! There is a Rickabaugh Cemetery on the grounds.Adam started the first Grist Mill on Raccoon Creek.
Visit other sights of interest at Adamsville.
B. Visit Old Pine Cemetery where our forefathers Abraham and Rachel Rickabaugh are
buried. Other Childers relative also buried there. Be sure to bring your camera.
E. Visit Rio Grande College, where William Benton Childers (1866-1954) graduated. He rode a horse delivering mail to make money for tuition. Dale Childers will give a tour.
D. 5 PM Return to Holiday Inn for group picture taking.
E. 6:30 PM Reunion Dinner to be selected (where & Time) later. |
| Day 4 Sunday June 22 |
9:00 AM Quick Meeting in morning at the Holiday Inn to select next reunion (Place & Time) and who will be in charge. |
Suggestions:
1. Meeting could be changed to Saturday night during dinner.
2. Group picture could be at Bob Evans Farm sometime on Saturday.
Things to bring: any bibles, pictures, letters etc. Jack will have a scanner & printer to make copies,also a computer with the complete Family History.
